Fun run

Last weekend I took part in a fun run. Before I got sick I'd started training with mum but cos I'm so skinny we decided we should just walk it instead. I won 'first dog across the line' :-) Oh, this is my new coat. It's REALLY warm and cosy and I wear it every morning at the mo cos I'm trying to keep my weight up and not use it to keep warm.

Last week I managed to gain another paltry 50g... Mum has ordered this new food for me that Radio used to eat and was good for putting on weight - but the store stuffed it up and it's not coming for another few days now. Boo - I'm just so hungry! And I've got an ear infection :-(

Oooooh Charlie ;-)

I do like your coat, rather sexy :-)

I wish my mum would buy me clothes, my wardrobe is empty... sniff sniff

Keep tucking into your food, your mum seems to be going to great lengths to serve up a good menu. Radio you get your food shipped from Germany.. wow... My mum says I'm a little pig though and dont need any extra food :-(

oh ditto, if only, radio is on the most boooooring pre digested soy food in order to keep his tummy stable, all bought from the vet (but we used to order the other kind Charly will try a bit off, and it was the only time radio was actually fully filled)....imagine, a vegetarian dog by nature, not choice? (not sure fo dogs would choose to become veggies...)

charly, radio was once called by his breeders the kate moss of the vizsla world, now its your turn to supermodel fame....(hopefully not for much longer)

Ooh thanks will try them next time! I think they might have been out of stock when we ordered - as was the other shop but hadn't bothered to say so on their site!

glad everyone likes my coat, I felt a bit like superdog the first time I went out in it - just need the big 'S ' on the back :-).

Oh - not sure about viz whizzing in Richmond - depends on the day - think we're coming home from there on 29th...

ramagohello dear little Charlie

We hope the Bozita helps you beef up a bit. Andrea knows a LOT about feeding and has pretty well nailed the business of putting/keeping on weight.

Maybe as an extra treat though are you allowed tripe?? Not the human consumption bleached stuff but the really stinky smelly animal stomach variety. Anglian Meat Products do it in mince and chunk form.

Redgirls have looked at your coat and its obviously quite classy. And expensive. But we're not sure it really cuts it on the fashion front??

Big hugs our best wee man

no no no, the coat is great! it combines nostalgic flair for uncles old pants and dogs new sporty wear....obviously!

oh charly, seeing those shaved legs of yours. hope all is getting better soon

btw, when you get that tripe you better get a nose clip too...;-)

Mmm I have some things called stinky sticks which are apparently dried tripe. Boy do they smell bad. they are double bagged in tupperware! New food should come tomorrow!

I think perhaps my pic doesn't do my coat justice - but it IS very warm and cosy and I've had lots of compliments on it and people asking where I got it so it's not too bad :-)

hi Sally, Lasse and i were just talking about Charlie...if his tummy doesn't get better, and if he is not gaining weight on that other food, perhaps he has IBD ? (it is much more severe in dogs than humans)...there are quite a few Vizslas now with it, and some are treated at the Queen Mother Hospital (a referral place where Oliver Garden works, he does canine/human studies into this at Imperial). It is quite a newly recognised illness in dogs, preventing them from putting on weight and digesting properly, and well, gives them all sorts of upsets. Just a thought in case he doesn't stabilise.

hope he will get to be a biiig boy soon though, A

Thanks! Food arrived today and went down well at lunchtime (albeit mixed with existing for transition) so fingers crossed it will do the job. Will hope for an improvement in a week or so and if not we will definitely investigate further.

hi sally, is charly putting on weight yet?

Charlie said...

Yes! I haven't weighed him this week as it is pretty obvious he's starting to fill out - which is great news! Cheers for that advice, this food really seems to be doing the job finally!
